In September 2024, TME Education programme achieved significant milestones in advancing STEM education across these African countries, reaching 117 young participants in Zambia, Kenya, Burundi, Ethiopia, and Liberia. Through a series of hands-on workshops, practical projects, and international collaborations, TME Education's programs empowered students with foundational skills in electronics, robotics, IoT, and digital design, sparking a passion for innovation across the continent.
In Zambia, Ambassador Obrey Muchena led interactive sessions at Makerspace Zambia and Munali Boys Secondary School, where 17 students explored robotics and electronics. Working with components like Arduino boards and servo motors, the students gained hands-on experience in automation, boosting their confidence and technical abilities.
Meanwhile, in Kenya, Ambassador Kelvin Kangethe Gitau spearheaded IoT projects at St. Dominic Technical Institute, where students created an automatic school bell and an irrigation system prototype. Additionally, the IoT Club at Zetech University expanded its activities , engaging new members in weekly sessions on Arduino programming. A highlight was Team Kenya’s participation in the FIRST Global Robotics Challenge in Greece, marking a significant milestone in international collaboration and skill development for all participants involved.
In Burundi, Ambassador Mireille Maniranzi trained students from Hope Africa University on embedded systems, covering industry-relevant topics such as UART and SPI protocols, while in Ethiopia, Ambassador Robe Getachew inspired over 30 young learners at the ET Summer Camp. Through game-related STEM projects, students under 15 explored the basics of robotics and IoT, igniting long-term interest in technology.
Finally, in Liberia, Ambassador Archie Forpoh led 20 participants through Robotics & AutoCAD training at the Orange Digital Center, where they built robots and created digital architectural designs, gaining essential skills for future careers.
Together, these programs reflect TME Education’s commitment to empowering African youth and equipping them with the skills to shape the future. The above activities are an excellent example of how TME Education is dedicated to developing electronic skills among young generation across Africa and India.
