At the end of April and at the beginning of May, TME Education Ambassador, Ndembo Jafari, carried out workshops on electronics at two Tanzanian institutions. First, he visited Moshi Technical Secondary School. The unit is located in Moshi District of Kilimanjaro Region and it is divided into two sections – ordinary level attended by both boys and girls, and advanced level attended only by boys. Altogether, the school is providing classes to 1350 students. Those, who attend the ordinary level can choose from 3 main technical domains - Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering.

The second institution, where Ndembo conducted the workshops was Tanga Technical Secondary School. Located in Tanga City Region and established in 1896 as a vocational unit it is widely known as the first government secondary school in Tanzania. It is divided into two sections – ordinary and advanced and is attended by 1012 students at both levels combined. The youth can elect technical subjects from 3 principal fields - Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering.

During the training, the students could learn the basics of electronics and explore the features of TME Education Arduino-based Kit. The workshops included programming, blinking LEDs, using analogue and digital sensors or printing on Serial Monitor and LCD. The participants also had a chance to try out the Bluetooth Module and work with Android data transmission.

The training took five days at each school and was attended by 56 students at Moshi Technical Secondary School and 95 at Tanga Technical Secondary School.
