Report: Teacher Training at St. Joseph’s Technical Institute, Kisubi, Uganda.

At the end of November and at the beginning of December, TME Education ambassador in Uganda, Patrick Ssonko, conducted a three-week training at St. Joseph’s Technical Institute, Kisubi. This institution is known for its focus on teacher’s education and provides specialists that are very much needed to sustain the Ugandan needs for quality secondary and vocational schooling. Patrick was so well-received during the event that a primarily two-week event was extended by five extra days on request of the trainees.

During the workshops, Ssonko followed his original tutoring programme for teachers and apart from providing some theoretical and practical knowledge he also demonstrated some useful exercises to be used while teaching. As the workshops were to prepare the teachers to conducts coherent and effective classes to students, Patrick put stress on methodology aspects and grading system application.

The training covered several aspects of electronics: C/C++ language later used in Arduino programming, exploring TME Edu Kit with practical exercised based on its features, GSM communication and others.
