Ethiopia’s Coding Camp Brings IoT to Life

In Ethiopia, TME Education Ambassador Robe Getachew led a hands-on Coding Camp that brought together 29 students (15 boys and 14 girls) for an engaging journey into programming, electronics, and automation. Using upgraded Arduino-compatible kits, participants built temperature-controlled fans, ultrasonic sensors, and basic IoT prototypes that turned theory into practice. The camp began with digital simulations, helping students visualise how circuits and code interact before applying them to real hardware.

By the end, learners had gained stronger problem-solving skills, teamwork experience, and confidence in their creativity — a major step towards nurturing Ethiopia’s next generation of young innovators in technology and engineering.
