Our Zambian ambassador, Obrey, acted as The Lead Organizer of the AI for Good Challenge in Zambia. He had the privilege of spearheading a national initiative. This program brought together 15 teams made up of over 30 high school and college students from across the country. The students were trained and mentored at the Makerspace in Lusaka, where they learned valuable hands on skills and prepared for the challenge.
With support from TME Education and the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), Zambian students will proudly take part in the 2025 AI for Good Summit, which will be held from July 8–11 at Palexpo in Geneva, Switzerland. This is a major opportunity for young Zambian innovators to connect with others from around the world.
This year’s theme, Robotics for Disaster Response, focuses on how AI and robotics can help solve real world problems, especially those linked to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
We are proud to announce the national winners who will represent Zambia at the global finals:
Junior Category: Munali Boys Secondary School students
Senior Category: Timothy and Jesse, two passionate young innovators.
Their success shows the power of youth, innovation, and teamwork. We are excited to see them share their ideas with the world.
