TME Education’s strongest April 2026 news story comes from Tanzania, where 186 secondary school girls from more than 25 regions took part in a national Girls in ICT Day 2026 Modular Drone Technology Bootcamp.
The programme was implemented by Taifa Technovation Hub Limited, led by TME Education Country Ambassador Said Shabani Hozza, with support from the Government of Tanzania through UCSAF, TCRA, and ICTC. Training was delivered across five zones: Dar es Salaam, Dodoma, Arusha, Mbeya, and Zanzibar.
Students who began with no prior drone knowledge learned to build, programme, and fly modular drones. More than 85 per cent became competent drone operators, while 31 top performers advanced to the national finals in Dodoma.
The programme highlights how practical STEM education can increase girls’ confidence, expand access to digital skills, and prepare young women for future careers in technology. It also positions TME Education as a key partner in strengthening inclusive innovation across Tanzania.
